Presentation of José María Marco's book

On November 1, 2007 the Spanish author and political analyst José María Marco presented his book "La Nueva Revolución Americana" in Washington DC. The event was attended by a delegation of the People's Party of Spain in the United States comprised of: Neir Taboada, president; Juan José Núñez, secretary general; Carlos Montero Luque, territorial delegate in Massachusetts; and Nuria De Francisco, territorial delegate in California.

The event was organized by the Atlas Economic Research Foundation and sponsored by Fundación Burke, Ciudadela Libros, and the Hispanic American Center for Economic Research (HACER). The presentation took place at the Washington DC headquaeters of the Metropolitan Club, located just a city block from the White House. After the introduction by Alejandro Chafuen, president of Atlas Foundation and HACER, José María Marco introduced some of the key themes he analyzes in his book: the transition from the "hippie revolution" to the "conservative revolution", the different outcomes of the '60s and '70s crisis in Europe and the United States, the strength of the conservative movement within the context of the American cultural wars, etc. Marco's lecture was followed by speeches by the other two presenters: Lee Edwards, of the Heritage Foundation and widely regarded as the chief historian of the American conservative movement, and Alfred Regnery, president of Regnery Publishing Inc. The event concluded with a question and answer session open to the public that filled the Metropolitan Club.

José María Marco collaborates with the Spanish publications La Razón and Libertad Digital, and the popular radio program "La Mañana". His articles also appear in Revista de Occidente, Noticiero de las Ideas and FAES Cuadernos de Pensamiento Político.
