FAES, the Foundation for Social Research and Analysis, is a non profit-making private foundation that focuses on developing political ideas and propositions. Linked to the People's Party of Spain since its inception in 1989, the FAES Foundation is headed by José María Aznar.

FAES is a leading think-tank and is committed to nurturing the political thought and action processes of the liberal and reformist centre. At the service of Spain and all its citizens, FAES seeks to reinforce the values of Western freedom, democracy and humanism.We aim to come up with, promote and disseminate ideas based on political, intellectual and economic freedom. Ideas that can offer political alternatives and ways of thinking that are different from those of socialism. Ideas that we hope will be taken on board by those in positions of political responsibility and turned into programmes of political action.
