On July 9, 2008, the Territorial Delegation in Washington, DC of the People's Party of Spain in the United States hosted a visit by Carlos Aragonés Mendiguchía, Chief Advisor to the President of the Government of Spain from 1996 to 2004 and Deputy (Representative) from Madrid in the Spanish Congress, and Lucía Figar de Lacalle, Secretary of Education of the Community (Region) of Madrid, during their visit to the United States.
During an informal meeting, friends and members of the People's Party of Spain in the Washington, DC area had an opportunity to exchange ideas with Carlos Aragonés y Lucía Figar on the XVI National Congress of the People's Party of Spain, new education programs for immigrants in Madrid, and current political events in Spain.
