Esperanza Aguirre's Visit to Miami

Esperanza Aguirre, President of the Community (state) of Madrid, Spain, visited Miami, where she was named "Española Universal" by the Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce of Miami. The visit included a meeting on November 11, 2007 with one hundred members and sympathizers of the People's Party of Spain in the United States organized by its Secretary General and Territorial Delegate in Florida, Juán José Núñez. Also attending the event were Francisco Granados, Secretary of Interior of the Community of Madrid, and Ignacio González, Vicepresident and Speaker. In her words to the audience, Esperanza Aguirre emphasized the importance of the votes of Spanish nationals living overseas in the March 9, 2008 general election. She also expressed her full support of King Juan Carlos in his exchange with Hugo Chávez of Venezuela at the XVII Ibero-American Summit in Santiago, Chile.
