A delegation from the People's Party of Spain in the United States attended the inauguration of Alberto Núñez Feijóo as President of the Spanish region of Galicia. The event was held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain on April 18, 2009. The delegation from the People's Party of Spain in the United States was integrated by its President, Neir Taboada, its Secretary General, Juan José Núñez, and its Secretary of Organization, Nuria De Francisco. The official event took place at the inauguration hall in the Galician Parliament at Pazo del Hórreo, and was followed by a public celebration at Plaza del Obradoiro.

In his inauguration speech, Núñez Feijóo asked the central government, represented by Manuel Chavez, Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary for Regional Cooperation, and the two opposition parties for cooperation to find solutions to the economic crisis. He announced that his main objective would be to reduce the unemployment rate and eliminate unnecessary spending.
