Victoria Cristóbal's Visit to New York

On October 17, 2008, a group of Spaniards in the New York area gathered to welcome Victoria Cristóbal Araujo, Executive Director of the Immigration Agency of Madrid, part of the Department of the Presidency and Interior of the Community (region) of Madrid, Spain. Victoria Cristóbal is also Majadahonda, Spain city councilmember. Previously, she was press secretary and advisor to Esperanza Aguirre, President of the Community of Madrid. The event was attended by members of the Executive Committee of the New York Delegation of the People's Party of Spain in the United States, and numerous party members and sympathizers.

During her visit in New York, Victoria Cristóbal visited a number of community centers of Spaniards in New York and gathered information on the presence of citizens from Madrid in the area. After her speech and during the questions and answers session, Ms. Cristóbal was thanked multiple times for the comprehensive health coverage that the regional administration of Madrid has made extensive to citizens abroad.

Hispanic Heritage Month

The territorial delegation in Washington, DC of the People's Party of Spain in the United States was invited by President George W. Bush to attend the National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations at the White House on October 9, 2008.

Geraldine Beneítez, Territorial Delegate of the People's Party of Spain in Washington, DC, met with Hispanic political leaders of the United States and attended the event hosted by President Bush.

Visit of the People's Party of León to Washington, DC

A delegation from the People's Party of Spain in the province of León visited Washington, DC in October, 2008. The delegation was composed of Juan Pablo García Valadés, Secretary of New Technologies and member of the Executive Committee, Lorena Casado Benavides and Silvia Gallego Marques, advisors to the President of the Provincial Government of León, Spain.

During the meeting of the delegations of the People's Party of Spain from León and Washington DC, Fernando Jiménez and Geraldine Beneítez analyzed the political situation in Spain and the United States from the point of view of young people.
