Visit of Aurelio Miras Portugal to New York and New Jersey

The territorial delegations in New Jersey and New York of the People's Party of Spain in the United States hosted a luncheon to welcome Mr Aurelio Miras Portugal, member of the Parliament of Galicia, Spain for the province of Orense, president of the National Commision on Emigration and Executive Secretary for Emigration of the People's Party of Galicia.

The event, which gathered almost one hundred attendees, took place on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at "Don Pepe" restaurant in Newark, New Jersey. Mrs Neir Nogueiras, president of the People's Party of Spain in the U.S. introduced and welcomed the guest. Mr Miras gave a speech outlining the current political climate in Spain and the procedure for Spanish nationals residing overseas to participate in the state and municipal elections of May 27, 2007. The speeches were followed by a 45 minute question and answer session.

After the event, Mr Miras traveled to New York to pay and informal visit to several Spanish organizations in the area.

Visit of Ana Pastor and Rafael Rodríguez-Ponga to Miami

Ana Pastor Julián, Executive Secretary of Social and Welfare Policies of the People's Party of Spain, and Rafael Rodriguez-Ponga, Secretary of Communications of the People's Party of Spain, visited the territorial delegation in Miami, Florida of the People's Party of Spain in the United States on April 20, 2007.

The first part of the visit included a tour of the Spanish Cultural Center in Miami and an interview for WQBA radio.

Ana Pastor y Rafael Rodríguez-Ponga where the guests of honor at a dinner with party members and sympathizers at "La Dorada" restaurant in Coral Gables. During the event, Juan José Núñez, Secretary General and Territorial Delegate in Florida of the People's Party of Spain in the U.S., presented plaques to Ana Pastor y Rafael Rodriguez Ponga in recognition for their visit. Rolando Pérez y Francisco Arrocha, Miami residents and members of the People's Party of Spain, presented a plaque to Ana Pastor on behalf of the Coral Gables Latin chapter of the Kiwanis Club, and international organization of volunteers dedicated to help children.
