Alfredo Prada's Visit to New York

Alfredo Prada, director of the Department for Overseas Affairs of the People's Party of Spain, finished a two-day visit to the United States with a meeting on February 22, 2009 with Spanish immigrants from the Galicia region. Prada asked his audience for their vote in the March 1 regional elections in Spain.

The ex-Vice President and Secretary of Justice of the regional government of Madrid started his US visit with a meeting with friends and members of the People's Party of Spain in New York on February 21. Prada listened to the concerns of the members of the Spanish community in the New York area, who asked for a simpler voting process and for Spanish citizenship for grandchildren of Spanish nationals residing overseas. Neir Taboada, president of the People's Party of Spain in the United States, and the territorial delegate of the party in New York, attended the meeting.

Prada started his last day in the United States with a visit to the Orensano Cultural Center in Newark. He later attended a teleconference with the territorial delegates of the party in California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Washington DC.

Aurelio Miras Portugal and José Luis Torres Colomer's Visit to New Jersey

Aurelio Miras Portugal, member of the Galician Parliament from Orense, and José Luis Torres Colomer, senator and mayor of Riveira, visited New Jersey on February 8, 2009 invited by the People's Party of Spain in the United States.

The guests met with representatives of Spanish businesses and cutltural centers in the New Jersey area. The meeting was organized by Neir Taboada, president of the People's Party of Spain in the US and provided information on the upcoming regional elections in Galicia.
